General School Introduction

Concord High School is a comprehensive, coeducational school situated in a well­established, residential area in Sydney. The school is set among leafy gardens and is surrounded by parks and playing fields. It is a DET showpiece in building design and offers a friendly atmosphere with a caring welfare program and a curriculum tailored to suit the individual needs of students.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Programs

· Year 10 students study two English courses.

· Year 11 to 12 students are taught a special English course for ESL students.

· The junior ESL students are catered for in mainstream classes and are given assistance from both their class teacher and an ESL teacher.

· The literacy committee supports literacy learning across all subject areas in the school.
